"We cannot hide from racism," Mount Vernon Interim Schools Superintendent Judith Johnson told CBS New York. "We have to confront it, we have to acknowledge it and we have to deal with it. It just reminded us once again that racial intolerance is still on the agenda,” Johnson said. "It's often the elephant in the room." Says Mt Vernon, NY Superintendent of schools.

Johnson told the news station that she sent copies of the tweets to the state education commissioner. She also noted that some Mount Vernon players were even called racial slurs by opposing players during the game but didn't take the bait.

"I call it grace under fire," Johnson said.

When are we going to rid ourselves of the damed cursed thing?

To make your day a little  brighter! A little Ukrainian humor...at least this is  the way that I see it!

Diverting from the typical Western line against "Russia’s invasion of Crimea," former Ohio congressman and Democratic presidential candidate Dennis Kucinich said it was driven by covert action by the United States.

I have made a point to ask friends of many years and those on the ground in Kiev about what is actually happening day by day (having earned a 1st in Modern History from Oxford has equipped me with pure research experience and the brainpower to deduce facts from fiction). So allow me to offer a perspective on the first hand happenings inside this Ukrainian Revolution.

I am currently with family in Hong Kong  but my thoughts and heart goes out to my family and friends thousands of miles away in the Ukraine. Why should you bother reading my take on it when the main news channels are already dominated by Ukraine stories?

 Here's why. I have had first hand updates from old school friends and their families who are based in both West and East Ukraine. For almost a decade, I went to school together with them. Importantly, the school we all went to was one of the very few Russian speaking schools in West Ukraine and our education had the emphasis on preserving Russian culture.

This is important because the insights I hear from Ukraine come from these well educated school friends who have a long standing affinity for the Russian language and culture. Many of them now live in the capital Kiev and some are currently on the barricades in the main Independence Square.

We urgently need to raise awareness to help the people of Ukraine, so please share this story with your friends.

There you have it from the Ukrainian perspective...Things are not always as they appear to be!

Afrikan Tribes Protects More Than Its People!

My first teacher of Truth to lay a firm foundation on which to build higher truths, Bishop Lenox E. Baxter, would always say, "When you take something from someone replace it with something of equal value or  something better".

I have found this to be true.  If a teacher is going to teach a Truth; to break down the walls of  tradition or dispel errors, the Truth must be consistent and in conjunction to one's way of life. The same principles should be applied to business ventures in Afrika. Truth, therefore, will be accepted and a successful transition inevitable as one sees a brighter  better way with increased confidence and self-worth.   It is a ‘win-win’ situation!  

This video attests to Bishop Baxter’s words and my belief that in order to be effective to promote change,  one must not force or coercer one into being as they are or to believe as they do.  Instead, they must be presented with that of which is real, honest, integrity and ethical! 

In my opinion, this has been the consensus with foreigners into Afrika.  They force themselves  in under the auspices of so-called aid or missions.  These have manipulated their way into Afrika and are intentionally destroying the Afrikan Way of life expecting Afrikans to be happy about it.  They expect that Afrikans should  comply as if they are still under cruel disparaging control of Colonialism, Apartheid and slavery.

Unlike other foreigners coming into Afrika with a mindset to 'free the heathen' ; take advantage of their lack of knowledge as to the Western 'dog-eat-dog' business philosophies and practices; forcing  erroneous  religious  practices designed to Europeanize the Afrikan by bring them to their own way of understanding; Dr. Leela Hazzah and her team of experts did just the opposite to accomplish much!

Dr. Leela Hazzah is the Founder & Executive Director of Lion Guardians.  A graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison who seems to enjoy a 'low profile'.  However, Doctor  Leela Hazzah's great accomplishments with Lions Guardians, you certainly deserve not only to be acknowledged for your work in Kenya. However, others need to model themselves after and practice your ethics, integrity and sincere empathy in making this world a better place; contributing to the environment at an non-evasive international level!
